It’s easy to stress and overthink this, so I start by saying to arrive wearing something that makes you feel great! I also suggest bringing a bag of options with form-fitting tops, including outfits with a burst of color or jewel tone that brings out your eyes and complexion. For those who wants a slimmer look, avoid white and pastels unless paired with a darker blazer or jacket. For general good ideas: A blend of long and short sleeved shirts, blazers and jackets for layering, v-necks and scoop necks, scarves, hats, dresses, cool boots and other embellishments are always welcome and encouraged. We want you to feel good in what you bring and to feel like your best self—that’s most important to have fun with this photo shoot.

Transition lens glasses are a no-go. They will instantly look like sunglasses and then we can’t see your eyes— and we really want to see those. Avoid tanning lotion unless you want to be an adorable oompa loompa. Try to avoid extreme patterns or logos, shirts that hug above your collarbone, avoid pastels/white/horizontal stripes if you’re wanting to appear slimmer, or thick jewelry so they don’t distract from your face (unless loud is part of your personal brand, then by all means, go for it).

Book with a non-refundable deposit to reserve your session time ($200 toward the balance via Quickbooks ACH or CC for a 3% processing fee), and the session can be transferred up until 72-hours prior to the scheduled session).

We choose a spot, from Ballard to South Lake Union to Bellevue to West Seattle and beyond. Then, we have an awesome photo experience with lots of awesome photos. After I receive your paid invoice, I’ll email you a very cool, online gallery of hi-res Jpegs (RAWS are not a service offered) for easy downloading, sharing and printing and you have full usage licensing for the images. Turnaround time for headshot sessions is within two weeks. Rush service for a faster turnaround may be purchased upon request.

Remember this important piece of info: The whole point is to look like yourself in these photos. Anyone should be able to look at the photo, then at you, and instantly say “Yes, that’s them and they look fabulous!” If you know a stylist or are great with your own hair and make-up, that’s wonderful! If not and you’d like a little boost, I've had clients happy with my fabulous colleague Sarah Rose or in a pinch, Swink Style Bar in Seattle for that naturally accented, polished look of slight emphasis on eyes, blush and lips. The same thing applies to hair—no need to transform yourself for this. You know better than anyone how it normally looks good, so keep it in the realm of how you’d normally have it styled. We want you to look like YOU, on a very good day. :)

Don’t worry, I’ve got you. There’s no pressure to magically know what to do with your face. Posing is naturally guided to get headshots that are organic—that capture honest expressions and the essence of your personality. My approach is strong direction, honest and fun connection, and headshots that look like the best version of the real live cool human you are.

I know having your headshots taken can feel stressful and “I don’t know what to do! I am THE MOST unphotogenic and awkward!” —so I promise, you won’t be. It’s MY job to make you comfortable and look like your best self. You‘re going to be great. Just show up being you, and I’ll take care of the rest. This will be fun.:)

First and foremost? It should be FUN. I take this fun very seriously. I’m collaborative, I’m curious, my superpower is putting people at ease and catching the real You in the camera. The headshot session should feel more like we are casually hanging out while amazing photos are organically happening. So the result is getting very polished photos of you looking like the very alive and cool human you are.
